Operation Sindoor LIVE: Drones sighted in 26 locations along LoC, International Border with Pak, says Defence Ministry

In the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian Defence Ministry has reported the sighting of drones in 26 locations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. These developments come amid “Operation Sindoor,” India’s recent military initiative targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. On the night of May 6-7, 2025, India launched “Operation Sindoor,” a series of precision airstrikes aimed at dismantling terrorist camps linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The operation targeted nine locations, including Bahawalpur and Muridke, and was executed using Rafale jets equipped with SCALP cruise missiles and HAMMER bombs. India asserts that over 100 militants were eliminated during the 23-minute operation. In retaliation, Pakistan has reportedly deployed drones across 26 locations along the LoC and International Border, spanning from Baramulla in the north to Bhuj in the south. Some of these drones were armed, with one incident in Firozpur, Punjab, resulting in severe injuries to a civilian family. The Indian Defence Ministry has heightened surveillance and is actively monitoring drone activities along the border. The recent drone sightings underscore the evolving nature of threats in the region and the importance of robust counter-drone measures. The international community has expressed concern over the escalating conflict, urging both nations to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to prevent further deterioration of regional stability. As the situation remains volatile, the Indian Defence Ministry continues to assess and respond to developments along the border to safeguard national security.
