India and Pakistan Declare Ceasefire Amid Rising Tensions, Violations Reported Shortly After

The nations have reached an agreement through international mediation, leading to widespread celebrations in Kashmir.

India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire following several days of heightened military tension, deadly cross-border attacks, and a flurry of accusations from both sides, which had sparked fears of a potential fifth full-scale war between the nuclear-armed rivals since 1947.However, the fragile truce appeared to be under strain as reports emerged of fresh explosions in Indian-administered Kashmir later on Saturday.Addressing the media, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated, “Over the past few hours, there have been multiple breaches of the agreement reached earlier this evening between the Director Generals of Military Operations of both countries.”
