Pakistan sets condition for the US to halt conflict with India

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has urged Pakistan to refrain from conflict and seek a peaceful resolution.According to Geo News, Rubio conveyed this message during a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday. In response, Dar stated that Pakistan is willing to pursue peace and reduce tensions, but set a clear condition: India must cease all forms of military aggression. He further warned, “If India escalates the situation, Pakistan will respond even more forcefully. Therefore, the responsibility of de-escalation lies with India.”This statement comes at a time when military tensions have reached a peak in Kashmir and along the border. Both nations have launched attacks and counterattacks in recent days.On April 22, a deadly attack in India-administered Kashmir’s Pahalgam claimed 26 lives. India blamed Pakistan and retaliated with a missile strike on Tuesday night, resulting in multiple casualties in Pakistan.Pakistan later claimed it shot down several Indian aircraft and drones, asserting that its forces did not cross the border into Indian or Indian-administered territory. When India continued its strikes, Pakistan launched counterattacks. Pakistani military officials said they targeted key Indian military installations using medium-range missiles like the Fateh-1 and other advanced weaponry.
