Tensions escalated sharply overnight as India and Pakistan exchanged fresh accusations and engaged in cross-border attacks along the volatile Line of Control in Kashmir. The situation continued into Friday, raising fears of a wider conflict.According to eyewitnesses and reports from Reuters citing local authorities, loud explosions shook several areas of Indian-administered Kashmir late Friday. The Sikh holy city of Amritsar, located in Punjab state near the border, also experienced loud blasts that unsettled residents.Dramatic visuals lit up the night sky over Jammu, a major city in Indian Kashmir, as projectiles and bright flashes were observed. Meanwhile, residents near Srinagar airport reported hearing multiple explosions, contributing to growing unease in the region.As the situation unfolds, concerns are mounting over the possibility of further escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
